What I Did on My Winter Vacation

Okay, so winter has really just officially begun, but with my non-quilting job, I was able to take 10 days off over the holidays, and I have been busy!

I have enjoyed my free time, and I hope you have been able to do so too. I have not had so much vacation time at this time of year for over 9 years, so I was very excited to focus on my sewing and quilting. This is what I have accomplished in the past 5 days:

1) labeled 4 finished quilts to donate to Project Linus
2) made 2 I-spy quilt tops to donate to Project Linus, and made kits for several more to sew in the coming days
3) pieced, quilted and finished 2 lap-size quilts and 1 queen-size quilt for holiday gifts, using ONLY my stash, no new fabrics! (2 shown here)
4) finished a UFO top (queen size quilt started in spring 2008)
5) organized my sewing and quilting spaces (with help from my very organized neighbor, who is NOT a quilter)
6) had track lighting installed over my quilting machine to give me more working hours in winter!

I have also been blessed to spend time with my family and friends. I hope you have been able to enjoy the season, and sneak in sewing time. I am almost dreading returning to corporate work in January!

Happy holidays and a safe New Year wish to everyone. !!
