Sorry, my friends, that it's been so long since I've posted. While I've neglected posting on my blog, I've been busy sewing and quilting and will have some new posts coming this week.
One of the offerings in my custom quilt side of the biz is making 100 Good Wishes quilts for adopted children. I've recently finished one for one of my customers, and created a video of the progress from start to finish.
The Good Wishes quilt comes from a tradition in the northern part of China to celebrate and welcome a new life. 100 friends and family are invited to contribute a square of fabric, usually between 8 - 9", with a wish for the child. Part of the fabric goes into the quilt for the baby, while a piece goes into a memory journal with that wish for the child. The quilt contains the luck, energy, and good wishes from all the families and friends who contributed a piece of fabric.
It is always an honor to create quilts for this special group of people. I hope you enjoy seeing the progress as much as I had making it.
